Want to see Cataratas
Departure from the hotel at 8:30. Our destination is the Iguazu National Park. We arrive at the Visitor Centre for a brief visit to an Environmental Exposure, where some texts and pictures are displayed. Visitors can compare the data and check the small percentage of native forest left after the occupation of land in Parana.
11 km from the entrance of the park, the vehicle leave us in front in the beginning of the Cataratas Trail. 1200 metres of walking paths lead us to see most of Iguassu Falls. The trail takes us to the panoramic lift.
We stop in Porto Canoas area to restore energies at a restaurant, snack bar or coffee shop. The guide will provide the time needed for food. Return to hotel.
The second requires preparation of documents, as passports are needed to cross the Argentina border on the way to the National Park. Our guide will help with the migration and will do everything possible to streamline the customs process.
Arriving at the Iguazu National Park on the Argentinean side, we start with train ride into the Iguazu Jungle along a 2.5-km railway into the Devil's Throat Station. With the 1-km catwalk looking out over the calm water, we cannot imagine that there are such impressive waterfalls just in front. The Devil´s Throat is more than 78 metres deep.
Returning to the Central Station, we have access to the Cataratas Upper Circuit. As the name implies, the circuit takes us to an upper view of the falls. We walk above the falls and gain insight into the massive size of the Iguazu River canyon.
After a quick stop for lunch, we enter the lower circuits of the river canyon for new and stunning views. This walk leads to Salto San Martin, the only fall not seen from the trails made on Brazilian side of the falls.
After about 6 hours in Cataratas del Iguazu in Argentina, we leave the Iguazu National Park in the direction of the Three Borders Landmark, where we can understand a little of the geography of the region. The Parana and Iguazu River divide three countries: Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Returning to Foz do Iguacu feirinha will have a stop (30 minutes) in Puerto Iguazu, a very interesting market where there are different types of wines, cheeses, salamis, olives, dried fruit and other foods. Return to your hotel at 5:30 pm.
